Here is what composer Kevin Mixon wrote about the Holiday Concert performance  of Chinese String Fantasy

"Wow! I just discovered a video of your performance in December of my "Chinese String Fantasy", and you played beautifully!  I am very impressed with your attention to pitches and rhythms, as well as to the attention to tempo and expressive elements.  Many middle school orchestras are not at that level of musicianship yet, but you certainly are!

Please thanks Mr. Folsom for being such a  great teacher, OK?  And pat yourselves on the back for your outstanding performance skills!

As you continue to perform in orchestra, consider composing.  I began composing pieces in middle school, and though they were not good then, just like with practicing on instruments, my pieces got better as I continued to write.  I love to play music, of course, but there is a particular form of expression that I love most with composing.  Give it a try, you might feel the same way!

But in any case, please continue to excel as performers as you have done so far!"
